DESCRIPTION

The Thin Air Press 35x52”(88cm x 132cm) is designed for laminating sheets of veneer together. It is ideal for larger projects like guitars, drums. Flat and curved furniture parts, such as curved-front drawer fronts, cabinet panels and table tops. Chess boards, and marquetry are frequently used in this size TAP Kit. 

Pressings can be flat, or used with an internal or external mould.

The kit can be re-used many times, and with a little care and maintenance, can last for many pressings.

THE THIN AIR PRESS KIT 36X52” CONTAINS:

• A 35x52” (88cm x 132cm) vinyl vacuum bag with a seal and a one-way valve. The valve can be positioned in the center (for most wood projects) or off-set for wet resin (epoxy) pressings. Please specify your choice when ordering
• Breather Netting
• Illustrated instructions and maintenance sheet

HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT

Insert your glued veneers (and mold) into the heavy-duty vinyl vacuum bag, position the breather netting under the valve, seal the bag, connect the manual super pump and extract the air. Watch as it generates enough pressure to press 1/16” veneer (or thinner) over a mold. Or laminate a fancy veneer to a flat surface. It can also be used without an internal mould or platen.

Before you glue up your veneers, a dry run is highly recommended! We can’t replace priceless sheets of veneer in case of a mishap!
